Festival Tours

Bhutan is adorned with a very rich cultural heritage, What other countries can boast about economic might, Bhutan can do so, with its very unique, one of a kind, culture and tradition. The self imposed isolation and the far sighted vision of our beloved fourth king Jigme Singye Wangchuck has propelled Bhutan into the 21st century, with a rich cultural legacy and a pristine environment.

bhutan-festivals.JPG Bhutan has twenty districts and numerous dialects, every time you cross over, into a different valley, you can taste and experience the rich cultural sundry, be it the food, the mannerism or the attire.

Each valley has its own, unique festivals held during different times of the year. Bhutan being an agrarian society with 80% of its population involved in farming or related works. The festivals served as a break from the mundane agricultural life and a good opportunity for people to meet and interact.

Numerous mask dances performed by the monks and lay people can be witnessed. Folk dances performed by the National dancers spice up the program with their beautiful outfits, and not to forget the red faced clowns, they can test your patience at times ,but their gestures and act provides a comic relief, from the otherwise serious mask dances.

The festivals gives us the opportunity to experience the tradition, culture and interact with the people up close. Don’t miss it!
